3 persons booked under PSA for anti-national activities in BB’la, B’pora: Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has booked three persons under PSA in Baramulla and Bandipora after obtaining formal detention orders from competent authority and also booked a notorious drug smuggler under PIT-NDPS Act in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that in Baramulla, the accused person identified as Tanveer Ahmad Khan S/o Abdul Rashid R/o Taripora Sheeri has been booked under Public Safety Act for his involvement in anti-national activities after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, adding therein that the said booked person has been detained and subsequently lodged in District Jail Kathua.
Police in it’s statement also said that in a similar action in Bandipora district police also booked two persons under PSA for their involvement in anti-national/anti-social activities after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, adding therein that the duo identified as Hilal Ahmad Parray S/o GH Ahmad Parray R/o Kochak Mohalla Hajin and Ab Hameed Parray S/o Gh Nabi Parray R/o Syed Mohalla Hajin have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu.
Police in it’s statement further said that many cases were registered against them and were involved in anti-national/anti-social activities and despite their involvement in many FIRs, they did not mend their anti-national/anti-social activities and were again involved in such type of activities. Stating that in Baramulla also, it has booked a notorious drug smuggler identified as Irfan Rasool Lone @Danish S/o Gh Rasool R/o Fatehgarh Sheeri under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, Police in it’s statement further said that the booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu, adding therein that cases against the said drug smuggler under relevant sections of law have been registered and investigation has been also initiated in to the case.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police reassured people that it has been making all efforts to treat the anti-national/anti-social elements in accordance to law and efforts are on to eradicate social evils from the society.
