3 gamblers arrested in Bla, stake money also seized: Police

Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested three gamblers in Baramulla and also seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on specific inputs about gambling activities at Hajibal Baramulla, a police party led by SHO Police Station Baramulla raided the specific spot and arrested three gamblers on spot, who tried to flee but were apprehended tactfully. Stating that the said accused were later identified as Reyaz Ahmad Ahanger S/o Mohammad Rajab R/o Drangbal Baramulla, Nazir Ahmad Gojree S/o Sonaullah Gojree R/o Gulnar Park Azadgunj & Shakeel Ahmad Gojree S/o Gh Mohammad R/o Jamia Mohalla,Police in it further said stake money of Rs. 7950/- and playing cards were seized from the possession of the above named accused who were shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Police in it’s statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation was subsequently launched into the case.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police warned that those found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
