Police carries bung destruction drive in Bla

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has destroyed wild bung at Bijhama & Ghat Palhallan district Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Bijhama along with officials of Revenue department carried a special drive against wild bung at Bijhama and destroyed the huge quantity of wild bung spread over 1 Kanal of land, on spot.
Police in it’s statement also said that in a similar action a Police party of Police Post Palhallan alongwith local volunteers destroyed wild bung spread over 1.5 Kanals at Ghat Palhallan, adding therein that the people of the area widely appreciated the action and assured their full cooperation against the drug menace.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police on this occasion appealed people to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood and warned people indulging in drug peddling and cultivation of contraband substances to mend their ways, otherwise strict actions will be taken against them under law.
