Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested three persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and also recovered three vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Mohd Nawaz assisted by SHO PS Pattan seized two vehicles (Tractors) and also arrested two drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Sherpora Pattan, adding therein that the said accused have been identified as Ali Mohd Wani S/o Mohd Ramzan Wani & Ajaz Ahmad Teli S/o Sonaullah Teli both residents of Hanjiwera Pattan.
Police in its statement also said that in a similar action a police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Mohd Nawaz assisted by Incharge PP Kungamdara seized one Tractor and also arrested one driver involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Goom Ahmadpora Pattan who was later identified as Manzoor Ahmad Wani S/o Gh Ahmad Wani R/o Goom Ahmadpora Pattan.
Stating that police has later accordingly registered the case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pattan and initiated further course of investigation in to the case.Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that it will take strict actions against the people found indulging in illegal extraction activities as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
