SSP organises one-day workshop on investigation of NDPS cases in Pulwama

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has organized a a day long workshop cum training programme on investigation of NDPS cases in order to hone the skills of IOs at DPO Pulwama.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, the meeting was attended by Addl. SP Pulwama, DySP Hqrs Pulwama, DySP PCs, DySP DAR Pulwama, SHOs, Incharge PPs of District Pulwama and Anti-Narcotics team. The resource persons in said workshop were also called from ANTF Kashmir who also imparted training to IOs.
In his address, the SSP Pulwama emphasized the importance of professional investigation of these cases to bring the accused persons to justice. He outlined the initiatives implemented by the Police to prevent drug abuse within the district. In the course of the discussion, it was announced that a workshop was conducted to enhance the investigation skills of IOs of the district. The program was aimed to equip IOs with advanced techniques and methodologies to better handle complex investigative challenges.
Besides, the SSP Pulwama further emphasized a range of crucial control measures which included the establishment of dedicated WhatsApp groups for intelligence sharing among various stakeholders, as prescribed under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. He also directed for attachment of property acquired through drug trade and also stressed for attachment, freezing of bank accounts and identifying known and suspected drug traders, smugglers in the district and subsequently initiating action against them. He also emphasized for identifying the payment methods being done though hidden channels including dark net. The hardcore drug suppliers be recommended to be detained under PIT NDPS and their assets/ property, if accumulated by illegal means of narco-business should be attached in accordance with law. Moreover, the resource personnel from ANTF Kashmir were actively involved in the training, sharing their expertise and insights to enrich the learning experience.
