Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has booked a drug smuggler under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that the said drug smuggler namely Mushtaq Ahmad Lone @Mushtaq S/o Ali Mohd Lone R/o Fatehgarh Sheeri has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
Police in it’s statement said that many cases were registered against the said drug smuggler and was involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Fategarh, Sheeri, Heewan and other areas of District Baramulla, adding therein that despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police reassured people to take all possible steps to keep society free from drug abuse.
