Srinagar : State Investigative Unit (SIU) Anantnag on Thursday attached under construction residential house of a militant associate in Danwathpora Kokernag area of Anantnag district used for militant activities after obtaining necessary sanctions from the competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that during the course of investigation under FIR No. 103/2022 of Police Station Kokernag under UA(P) Act, one under construction residential house belonging to militant associate namely Mohammad Ishaq Malik S/o Mohammad Saifullah Malik R/o Danwathpora Kokernag has been found used by militants of Hizb Ul Mujahideen militant outfit.
Police in its statement further said that it has attached the property belonging to the above named accused falling within the ambit proceeds of militancy under section 25 of UA(P) Act and the confirmation related to the attachment of property was accorded by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appaled people not to harbor militants/militant associates or provide them shelter or extend logistics to them in their houses, failing which strict legal action will be taken against anyone doing so, reiterating therein that SIU shall continue identification and initiation of attachment /confiscation of properties falling under the ambit of proceeds of militancy to shake the ecosystem of militancy in J&K.
