2 drug smugglers booked under PIT NDPS , 2 others booked under PSA for anti-national activities in Bla: Police

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has booked two drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act, besides booking two other persons under PSA for anti-national activities.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that drug smugglers identified as Mohammad Afsar Khan @ Afsar S/o Mohd Muzaffar Khan R/o Binner Baramulla and Tariq Ahmad Sheikh S/o Faqir Mohd Sheikh R/o Sheikh Colony Khawajabagh Baramulla were booked under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.
Police in its statement further said that many a cases were registered against these drug peddlers who were also involved in promoting drug trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Town Baramulla and other areas of District Baramulla, adding therein that despite their involvement in many FIRs, they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
Stating that the two persons identified as Bashir Ahmad Mir S/o Mir Zaman Mir R/o Dachi & Syed Khaki Shah S/o Razak Hussain Shah R/o Madiyan Kamalkote involved in anti-national activities have been detained under Public Safety Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu, Police in it’s statement further said that police has accordingly registered the cases against these persons involved in anti-national activities and despite their involvement in many FIR’s they did not mend their activities.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police reiterated that it will take strict actions against the people involved in anti-social activities and appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing this menace from the society.
