Drug peddler arrested in Kulgam, contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party headed by SHO Police Station DH Pora at a checkpoint established at Boh intercepted a suspicious person and during searches recovered 420 grams of Charas like substance from the possession of the said accused identified as Manzoor Ah Naik S/o Ab Rashid Naik R/o Boh, who was later arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that police has accordingly registered the case vide FIR No. 43/2023 under relevant sections of law in Police Station DH Pora and initiated an investigation into the case. Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it by informing any anti-social activity in their areas to the nearest police station immediately.
