G-20: GDC Ajas organises Exhibition of traditional Kashmiri Heritage

Bandipora : The cultural committee of Government Degree College (GDC) Ajas on Tuesday organized a remarkable display of traditional Kashmir cultural items in the college campus, here under G20.
The exhibition included various traditional clothing, utensils, and musical instruments of the region. The main aim of the exhibition was to promote, preserve and showcase the richness and diversity of the traditional heritage of Kashmiri culture.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Parveen Kousar, who praised the efforts of the organizers in showcasing the cultural richness of the region. She appreciated the efforts of the students for their hard work to make the exhibition a grand success.
The display included a wide range of traditional Kashmiri items, such as shawls, Tila, Sozni, carpets, pottery, various agriculture items and embroidery, Lachka, Polari, Ornaments, Pahadi Costumes. The items were arranged creatively, with a focus on highlighting their unique features and intricate details.
In addition to the display, the event witnessed music performances by students, adding to the charm of the event. The performers enthralled the audience with their mesmerizing performances.
The exhibition had an overwhelming response and was attended by a large number of participants, including students, faculty members, and visitors. Besides, students from GHS Ajas were invited specially.
Participants were fascinated by the intricate designs and handicrafts of the region. They also got a chance to taste some authentic Kashmiri food and beverages. The event provided an opportunity to promote tourism in the region. By showcasing the unique features of Kashmiri culture, the event helped to generate interest in the region and its rich heritage.
Overall, the display of traditional Kashmiri cultural items and traditional songs under the G20 by Government Degree College Ajas demonstrated the College’s commitment for promoting and preserving Kashmiri culture, and provided a platform for cultural exchange and tourism promotion.
