Srinagar: Police on Sunday claimed to have averted a major tragedy when they arrested a militant associate and recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“Police averted a major tragedy by apprehending a terror associate Ishafq Ahmad Wani a resident of Arigam in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and recovered an IED weighing 5-6 Kgs approximately on his disclosure”, police said in a tweet.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation started, police added.
