Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a delinquent who attacked fellow students by Knife in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that around 1500hrs, a scuffle broke out between two groups of Dreamland School Beehama, Ganderbal wherein one student namely Zahid Shabir S/o Shabir Ahmed R/o Bandybagh, Ganderbal attacked two fellow students by sharp object/knife resulting in injuries to both of them. Police in it’s statement further said both the injured students, identified as Hidayat Ahmed and Ibrahim Ahmed, both the residents of Beehama, Ganderbal were immediately shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment, adding therein that Zahid who attacked his fellow students fled away from the spot.
Stating that police has accordingly registered a case under FIR No. 116/2023 in relevant sections of law at Police station Ganderbal and investigation has been also initiated into the case, accordingly, Police in it’s statement further said that during investigation, a team was constituted under the supervision of DySP PC Ganderbal and deputed to arrest the accused , adding therein that after strenuous efforts, Police team caught the accused near Baroosa. Police in it’s statement furthermore said “ during investigation it was revealed that the incident took place over minor issues and some more students were involved in scuffle and Zahid who is student of class 12th of Dreamland school has been aggressive since the beginning and as per school principal, he was involved in multiple fights with other students in past also”.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said that all the legal procedures and formalities have been followed into the case and the delinquent will accordingly be produced before Juvenile Board and other students who were involved in the scuffle will also be brought and produced before the board.
