Srinagar : Police in Awantipora on Tuesday facilitated a public meet at District Police Lines Awantipora. The meeting was chaired by SSP Awantipora Ajaz Ahmad Zargar and was attended by public representatives, shopkeepers, traders federations, various market associations and respectables of Awantipora area.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the participants highlighted various issues of public importance which were patiently listened by the chairing officer. Police said that participants on this occasion were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasion, the chairing officer reiterated that policing at grassroot level in the district would be revamped to enhance proficiencies of the cops and to develop confidence among the people.
Speaking on the occasion, the SSP Awantipora said that public meetings are conducted to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses. He further added that community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils. The SSP Awantipora thanked all the people for coming and sharing their views and for promising to promote harmony and peace in the area with every possible assistance of lawful machinery.
