Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested two gamblers in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and also seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that acting on specific inputs about gambling activities at Takiya Wagoora, the police party of Police Post Wagoora raided the specific spot and arrested 2 gamblers identified as Jahangir Ahmad Shah S/o Mehraj ud Din Shah R/o Takiya Wagoora & Parvaiz Ahmad Malik S/o Bashir Ahmad Malik R/o Gousia Colony Hadipora, adding therein that stake money of Rs 3800/- and playing cards were also recovered from the possession of the said accused who were shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that police has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Kreeri and initiated an investigation in the matter, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
