Srinagar: Police on Monday claimed to have booked a notorious drug peddler under PSA after obtaining necessary sanction from competent authority in Budgam.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a drug peddler namely Fayaz Ahmed Ganie S/o Late Abdul Ahad Ganie R/o Hanjibugh Magam has been booked under PSA after obtaining necessary sanctions from the competent authority, adding therein that the booked drug peddler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal, Jammu.
Stating thatseveral cases are registered against the said drug peddler in various police stations of district besides which he was involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of District Budgam, Police in it’s statement further said that despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that it’s actions against the criminals will continue and reassured the people that it has been making all efforts to eradicate social evils from the society.
