Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district..
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that a police party of Police Post Humhama at a checkpoint established at Humhama intercepted a suspicious person and during checking recovered12 bottles of illicit liquor om his possession, adding therein that the accused person identified as Mohammad Ashraf Khan S/o Kaiser Khan R/o Alosa Bandipora has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that it has accordingly registered a case vide FIR No. 83/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Budgam and further investigation taken up, Police in the concluding para of the above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding anti-social elements in their neighbourhood and reiterated that people found indulging in anti-social activities will be dealt as per law.
