Traffic Police Rural Kmr organised awareness Prog at GDC Qazigund

Kulgam : Traffic Police Rural Kashmir sector Qazigund Kulgam on Thursday organised an awareness programme at Degree College Qazigund. SSP Traffic Rural Ravinder Paul Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He was accompanied by DySP Traffic Kulgam, DySP Traffic Anantnag, DTI Qazigund and other police officials. Principal Degree College Kulgam and other faculty members were also present and graced the occasion.
According to a statement issued from PHQ J&K Media Centre, DySP Traffic Kulgam presented the welcome address and spoke about main offences leading to accidents and casualties.
The SSP Traffic Rural while addressing the young students explained about the need of awareness among students and role they can play to reduce the number of accidents. He urged the youth and students to follow traffic rules sincerely and also inspire others to follow the same.He also spoke about main offences which lead to accidents such as over speeding, drunken driving, using mobile phone while driving etc. and insisted upon the officials to address these offences strictly by way of challaning, penalising and to conduct special drives regularly.
On this occasion, the DTI Qazigund also gave detailed power point presentation about various rules and offences under MV Act and the role of Traffic Police to prevent the accidents.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Principal Government Degree College Qazigund with his remarks and suggestions.
Later, the SSP Traffic Rural also visited Sector Traffic Qazigund/Kulgam and briefed all the Nakas of Qazigund sector to perform their duties with full dedication and sincerity . He enjoined upon all the officers to show highest standards of discipline and integrity. He also directed them to be upright and transparent while performing the duties. He said every possible effort should be utilised to take care of reputation and image of Traffic Police and also warned that any activity which harms the image of traffic police would be dealt seriously.
