2 gamblers held in Kulgam, stake money also seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested 2 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said while acting on specific inputs about gambling activities near Laroo Bypass, a police party led by SHO Police Station Kulgam raided the specific spot and apprehended the two gamblers identified as Mohammad Arif Khan S/o Abdul Gani Khan R/o Reshipora and Bilal Ahmad Shah S/o Abdul Hamid Shah R/o Pahloo, Stating therein further that during checking stake money of ₹2,900/- and playing cards were seized from the gamblers.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 20/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kulgam and further investigation has been also initiated, Police in the concluding para of the above quoted statement said that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
