Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has seized illicit timber and also arrested 2 persons involved in the commission of crime in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that a police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO PS Uri, arrested two persons identified as Mumtaz Hussain S/O Khaki Shah R/O Zamboor Pattan Uri & Syed Abass Hussain S/O Syed MuzaffarHussain R/O Choolan Uri involved in illicit trade of forest timber, Stating therein further that illegally acquired forest timber measuring about 18 cft was recovered at Zamboor Pattan Uri on their disclosure.
Stating further that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Uri and investigation has been initiated, Police in the concluding para of the above quoted statement re-assured the people to make all possible efforts to keep society free of crime and also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
