Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in south Kashmir’s Shopian district and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that Police Station Zainapora received specific iinputs through reliable sources about one person namely Bashir Ah Bhat @Bashir Khacha S/O Mohamad Abdullah R/O Wachi having concealed contraband substance in his residential house at Wachi.
Stating that on receiving inputs a Police Party of PS Zainapora along with concerned Executive Magistrate raided the specific house and during searches recovered Charas from the said house, Police in it’s above referred statement said that the accused later on has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, Stating therein further that a case FIR No. 09/2023 under relevant sections of law has also been registered at Police Station Zainapora and investigation has been initiated.
In a concluding para of the above quoted statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood but warned therein that the people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law reassure people to fight against the drug menace.
