Srinagar : Police on Thursday organised a free medical camp cum drug de-addiction programme in collaboration with District Hospital Handwara at Kralgund under the Civic Action Programme.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar a team of doctors from different specialties offered consultation to more than 565 persons. The main initiative of this medical camp was to facilitate people in general by providing access to medical check-up and medicines.
During the campe people were made aware about signs and symptoms of drug addiction so that they could identify early onset of addiction and appropriate intervention. Police further said that the people were also made aware of de-addiction facilities which could be life saving for severe addicts. People were during the camp urged to spread awareness among the society that any disease/addiction is treatable with the right medical attention and that addicts and their families should not shy away from seeking medical help to get rid of drug addiction.
