Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and also recovered contraband substance from his possession in the Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headuqarters Srinagar Police said that a Police Party led by SHO PS Kangan at a checkpoint established at Margund arrested a drug peddler identified as Shareef-U-Din Chichi S/o Ghulam Mohi Ud Din Chichi R/o Baba Reshi Chattergul and during searches contraband substance was recovered from his possession, Stating therein further that the above named accused has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 13/2023 has been registered under relevant sections of law at P S Kangan and further investigation has been initiated, Police in the concluding para of the above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
