Illegal extraction and transportation of minerals: ‘6 accused arrested in Budgam, 6 vehicles seized’, Says Police

B’gam: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested six persons and also seized six vehicles on charges of illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
In a statement issued from Zona Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that a police party of Police Station Budgam during naka checking at Mirgund seized three vehicles (Tippers) bearing registration numbers JK04-9483, JK03J-5840 and JK04-3556, carrying illegally extracted natural minerals and also arrested three accused persons identified as Adil Hussain Bhat son of Mohd Abdullah Bhat resident of Chadipora, Sarwar Hussain Mir son of Gulzar Ahmed Mir resident of Kakan Maran and Anees Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmed Dar resident of Tikipira.
Stating that a police party of Police Station Chadoora seized three tippers bearing registration numbers JK01AB-6272, JK01T-6421 & JK08A-6887 at Chadoora for illegal extraction and transportation of soil from Government land at Chadoora, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that three accused drivers identified as Shabir Ahmad Dar son of Habibullah Dar, Tanveer Ahmad Goru son of Riyaz Ahmad Goru & Nisar Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Ramzan Dar, all residents of Khawaja Bagh Maloora Srinagar were also arrested.
Police in it’s above quoted statement furthermore said that all the accused persons have been shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody ans cases under relevant sections of law too have been registered in respective police stations and investigation are also underway.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
