Srinagar: A south Kashmir youth who snatched an assault rifle of Central Reserve Police Force jawan on Sunday morning was brought back with family assistance, police said this evening.
The weapon of a CRPF man was snatched during patrolling at Bellow Pulwama this morning.
Soon after the incident joint forces cordoned the area and massive search was launched.
Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said police brought back 25 year old Irfan Bashir Ganie alias soba Ganie a resident of Below Pulwama, who was involved in the incident.
“He was brought back along with AK-47 rifle which he snatched from CRPF personnel today morning,” Kumar said, while appreciating the role of his family.
ADGP said further investigation was going on.
