Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested seven persons involved in illegal extraction and transport of minerals in Bandipora district and also seized seven vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that during the surprise night checking across the district by the police team headed by SSP Bandipora Mohmad Zahid three JCB machines and four Tippers were seized at Turkpora and Garoora areas of Bandipora, Stating therein further that seven persons involved in the commission of crime were also arrested.
Stating that Police has registered a cases under relevant sections of law in the concerned police stations and further investigation is in progress the police in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement said that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
