Jammu: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, Advisor to Lt Governor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar and Chief Secretary Dr A K Mehta in their separate statements issued on Monday greeted the people on the joyous and auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak DevJayanti.
In his message of greetings Lt Governor Manoj Sinha observed that Guru Nanak Devji’s message of equality, universal brotherhood, oneness and compassion for all, continues to guide and inspire humanity. “May each one of us imbibe the revered Guru’s noble teachings and strengthen the bonds of unity in our society. Let us resolve to rededicate ourselves for the upliftment of the weak and downtrodden and create a society devoid of all social distinctions,” the Lt Governor said.
In his greeting message, the Advisor to Lt Govenor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar said that the teachings of Guru Nanak DevJi, of peace and unity are very relevant in today’s world and we all should follow the ideals of Guru Nanak DevJi for the prosperity of our nation. The Advisor also said that Guru Nanak DevJi’s life and message of truth, simplicity and equality of all human beings continues to inspire and guide us all in every field of our lives. “His teachings can help us lead a happier, more meaningful and more fulfilling life”, he added.
In his message of greetings Chief Secretary Dr A K Mehta said that the Guru’s preaching inspires all to stand for equality, kindness, brotherhood and selfless service. He stated that these principles are as relevant today as they have ever been and continues to guide all on the path of righteousness. “The festival deserves to be celebrated with fervour and collective spirit to spread the message of morality, hard work and truthfulness inherent in the preachings of Guru Nanak,” said Mehta in his message here this evening.
