Kulgam : Private Secretary in the Department of Culture Farooq Ahmad Banday, who was designated Visiting Officer for Panchayat Halqa, Okey here, concluded his two day visit to area under ongoing “Fourth Phase of Back to Village” programme.
During his visit, the officer assessed the development issues and needs of the Halqa and also held detailed interaction with the locals there.
Representatives of various line departments and officers of district administration were also present on the occasion.
While interacting with the locals, the visiting officer took stock of their issues and developmental needs besides sought feedback from them regarding status of implementation of various government schemes in their area.
During the interaction, the Private Secretary outlined the essence of ‘Back to Village’ Programme, saying that the main motive behind this people friendly initiative is to ensure that not even a single person is deprived of the benefit of developmental schemes. He said that Government’s ambitious Outreach programme intends to enable people to voice their issues more freely at their doorsteps.
During his visit of two days to PanchayatHalqaOkey, the visiting officer distributed Land Passbooks, E-Sharam Cards, Golden Health Cards, among beneficiaries. He also kick started plantation drive in the premises of GHS Okey. The visiting officer also inaugurated sports event several and other activities in the school.
