Sir,
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s statement that the rupee has not weakened but it is the greenback which has strengthened seems to be hilarious. Defending the 8 per cent slide in the value of Indian currency against the greenback this year is honestly elusive.Comparison of our economy with other countries like Turkey is not acceptable instead the Finance Ministry should be very conscious particularly of external factors which are affecting badly and also with the fiscal deficit. Centre needs to play critical role in boosting investments. It has to provide conducive environment to unicorns to surge. Programs like Gati Shakti and novel asset monetisation are badly required to generate momentum in economy so that we get the tag of the world’s fastest-growing large economy in coming days.
