Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested 2 drug peddlers in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that after receiving inputs about the movement of drug peddler a police party of Police Station Pampore headed by SHO PS Pampore under the supervision of SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad at a special checkpoint established at Tulbagh Crossing arrested 2 drug peddlers who were identified as Amir Hamid Lone S/o Abdul Hamid Lone R/o Lalwani Mohalla Drangbal and Imran Baktoo S/o Mohd Ibrahim Baktoo R/o Noorani Colony Pampore.
Stating that during searches, 5.5Kgs of grinded Cannabis was recovered from the possession of the above named drug peddlers were shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s statement further said that it has registered a case vide FIR No. 124/2022 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pampore and further investigation has also been initiated.
In the concluding para of the above referred statement Police on this occasion appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and waned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law
