Srinagar : Expressing satisfaction over the increase in  tourist influx in  Jammu and Kashmir this year, Chairman J&K People’s Democratic Front (JKPDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseenon Friday demanded development of  Doodhpathri, Tossamaidan and Yusmarg tourist places to their full potential. While craving for urgent attention of the Govt. towards these tourist spots, Yaseen said that vast tourism potential of Doodhpathri ,Tossamaidan and Yusmarg tourist places and  has remained unexploited so far adding that government has not  given its  focussed attention for development of these tourist places.

In a statement issued on Friday, Hakeem while expressing satisfaction over the claims of the tourism development about increase in tourist influx in Jammu and Kashmir this year , termed it as a good omen . He  demanded focussed attention of the government towards development of Doodhpathri ,Tossamaidan and Yusmarg tourist places which has remained unexploited due to lackadaisical approach of the concerned authorities. He said the vast  tourism potential of these tourist places,  if exploited optimally , would give a big boost to tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir , besides creating vast job avenues for the local youth . He said these tourist places are located nearer to the Shiekh-Ul-Alam International airport which was a plus point in the way of  promotion of tourism. He said that tourism sector was the backbone of local economyadding that government should especially exploit adventure and  winter tourism potential of these tourist places .

The PDF Chairman also said that all the three tourism development authorities (TDA )of Doodhpathri, Tossamaidan and Yusmarg were defunct due to lack of manpower and svailability of requisite funds. He has urged the government to make these TDSs fully functional by deploying adequate staff and funds for various tourism related development works.
