Jammu : A day long orientation cum Training programme was on Friday organized by the Livestock Development Board Jammu under the Accelerated Breed Improvement Programme- SS component of RashtriyaGokul Mission, here at the Directorate of Animal Husbandry TalabTillo.
Organised on the instructions of Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, KrishanLal, the Training was attended by the Nodal officers from across the districts of Jammu province who shall act as Master Trainers in their respective districts in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, the experts from Genus ABS Pvt. Ltd Pune- Maharashtra informed the participants that the main aim of using Sexed semen for breeding in bovines is to obtain superior quality female calves only, which shall act as a game changer not only by enhancing milk production but also limiting stray cattle population.
The CEO Livestock Development Board Jammu, Dr. Tariq Parvez, while addressing the gathering, said that with the introduction of sexed semen in bovine-breeding, the profitability of dairy business is bound to increase further.
The training programme, among others, was attended by Joint Directors, Deputy Directors besides officers and staff of the Animal Husbandry Department Jammu.
