DGP sanctions Rs. 1.77 Cr for NoKs of slain, deceased Police personnel & SPOs

DGP sanctions Rs.2.04 crore as Spl Welfare Relief for NoKs of slain, deceased police personnel,SPOs

Srinagar :  Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 1.77 crore as Special Welfare Relief/ex-gratia relief/financial assistance for NoKs of slain and deceased Police personnel.

According to a statement issued from Police Headquarters the DGP in different orders issued from his office has sanctioned grant of ex-gratia relief of Rs 38 lakhs in favour of dependents and legal heirs of slain Sub Inspector (M)Farooq Ahmad Mir and special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh in favour of dependents and legal heirs of slain Ct Sarfraz Ahmad who was killed in a militant attack. The DGP has also sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 50 thousand in favour of NoKs of slain Dy SP Parveen Kumar in connection with the marriage ceremony of his daughter. Similarly, the Special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased Sub Inspector Naresh Kumar, ASI Ajeet Singh, Head Constable (M) Manzoor Ahmad and Head Constable Mohammad Razaq and Ct Aman Bandral. The deceased personnel have passed away due to illness/ natural death while in service.

Furthermore the DGP has sanctioned Special Welfare Relief of Rs 6 lakh in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased SPO Bashir Ahmad Parray who passed away during the course of his engagement with the department. Also welfare relief of Rs 50 thousand has been sanctioned in favour of retired SI Ali Mohammad to defray the expenses incurred on his treatment for life consuming ailment. Rs one lakh each has already been paid to NoKs of the said slain and deceased Police personnel and Rs fifty thousand for SPO for performing their last rites through concerned units. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of Contributory Police Welfare Funds.

In the above referred statement Police also reiterated that Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families, Stating therein that there are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. The Statement also said that there are schemes for the NoKs of slain police personnel, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
