Police organizes awareness prog-cum-rallies on drug abuse, illicit trafficking in Awantipora, Pulwama

Wild bung also destroyed in Pampore, Awantipora

Srinagar : Police on Monday organized drug awareness programs cum rallies in Awantipora and Pulwama here. Besides, wild bung was also destroyed in Awantipora.

According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar  Police said that in Awantipora, the awareness programme was held at Global School Tral. The programme was attended by students of different age groups and other respectable of the Tral area.

Simultaneously, on this occasion, the Police launched drive against bung cultivation and destroyed huge quantity of wild bung in Awantipora and Pampore areas.

Meanwhile, here in Pulwama, awareness rally against drug abuse started from Middle School Kakapora to Main town Kakapora which passes through various routes of town Kakapora and back. The rally was attended by Dy SP PC kakapora, SHO Kakapora, ZEO Kakapora, members of civil society, students, youth and respectable of the area participated in the rally.

Similarly at Litter, awareness rally started from Hr Sec. School Chakoora to Grawgund passes through various villages of litter. The rally was attended by SDPO Litter, SHO Litter, Principal along with staff of the school, students, youth, respectable of the area and other civil & Police officers.

In a concluding para of the above referred statement issued here, police said that in addition to this, a seminar was also conducted by SHO Litter at Higher Sec School Chakoora to spread awareness ill effects of drug abuse on society. The officer complimented the participants and highlighted the need to protect our young generation from the menace. He also made aware the participants about the devastating impact of drug abuse and said that drug abuse poses a serious challenge to our society. He also stressed upon the parents to closely monitor their children and urged them to help their wards choose different career avenues through which they channelize their potential and energy in a positive way.
