Budgam : Police on Friday that it has arrested a man for his involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of mineral in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district and also seized a vehicle in Budgam.
In a statement issued from the Zonal Police Headquarters here, police said, that Budgam Police station received an inputs about the extracton of soil illegally from Government land by a JCB at Areena Wadur Budgam after which Police party of PS Budgam raided the spot and seized a JCB (without registration Number).
Stating that the driver of the JCB was also arrested and identified as Shameem Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat R/O Jawalapora Budgam, Police in it’s above referred statement said that the said JCB drivers has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Police in it’s above referred statement also said that it has registered a case vide FIR number 297/2022 under relevant sections of laws in Police Station Budgam and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of the above referred statement police warned that people who indulge in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people of the area to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
