Srinagar : As part of 75th year of Independence week under “AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV” the IRP-20th Battalion on Thursday organised “Har Ghar Jhanda” program during under CAP 2022-23 for conduct of Special Tiranga Marches on the theme “Aan Baan Shaan of Tiranga” at Govt. School Ahanger Mohalla Yakmanpora Pattan Baramulla in which officers/officials of the unit as well as students and staff of the school besides the respectables, Sarpanch, Panchs and ladies participated.
According to the statement issued by the Zonal Police Headquarters here, the official confirmed that during the campaign, Commandant IRP-20th BN Baqar Samoon advised to the officers/officials as well as Staff/students of the school & locals of the area that the Indian Flag be flown or displayed in houses and the main goal of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign is to help people develop a personal connection with our country’s flag. He spoke about the history of Independence in the light of Dandi March of 12th March 1930 led by Mahatma Gandhi in which 78 participants started their march from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi in Gujrat.
The purpose of the programme was to encourage the students/staff of the school as well as locals of the area to bring the Tiranga home & to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. Bringing the flag home collectively in the 75th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection with Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building.
