5 accused involved in murder case arrested in Srinagar: Police

Says “husband, in-laws of deceased also among accused arrested ”

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested five persons including the husband and in laws of the victim named accused in a murder case in Batmaloo area of Srinagar city.
In a statement issued on Wednesday Police said Police Station Batmaloo received an information through reliable sources wherein it was learnt that one lady namely Tasleema Bano, (Aged 38 years) W/O Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar R/O Nundresh Colony B Bemina Srinagar had died at her In-laws house at Nundresh Colony-B Bemina, in suspicious conditions and was taken to SMHS Srinagar, where doctors declared her dead.
Stating that on receiving information about death of the said woman in suspicious conditions a report was entered into the daily dairy of Police Station Batamaloo vide GD No.30 dated 27-06-2022 and proceedings under section 174 Cr.PC initiated , Police in it’s above referred statement further said that during questioning, some suspects, particularly her in-laws were brought to Police Station Batmaloo for questioning but a report received from Pathology department revealed the postmortem examination and the team of doctors had clarified the fact that the findings are consistent with death due to Asphyxia (Smothering).
Police in it’s statement further more said that on the basis of the said report, the Case under FIR No. 109/ 2022 U/S 302 stands registered and investigation was set into motion .
In the concluding para of the above referred statement, the police appealed people to come forward, if they have information about this case and cooperate and fulfill their civil duty that will greatly help in the investigation of this heinous crime against women.
Police in it’s statement also stated therein that 5 suspected persons including 03 famales and 02 males identified as Hafeeza Begum W/o Ghulam Qadir Dar, Sumiyaa W/o Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, Siaqa W/o Yasir Ahmad Dar, Parvaiz Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Qadir Dar, Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Qadir Dar, all residents of NR Colony Bemina from the deceased’s in-laws were arrested in the instant case and further investigation in the instant case is still going on.
