Faqir Rahim’s poetic collection released

Kashmir Markaz Adab-w-saqafat organises literary event at GDC, Pulwama

Srinagar: Famous sufi poet Faqir Rahim Shah’s s poetic colle jiction ‘ Fana -Fe- Rahim’ was released today at a an impressive literary event held in the Conference Hall of Govt. Degree College, boys , Pulwama .
The event was organised by Kashmir Markaz Adab-w-saqafat Chrari Sharief.
Noted historian , scholar and poet ,Prof.Farooq Fayaz presided over the function where as Prof Shaad Ramzan , President Markaz Adab Kamraz ,Mohd Amin Bhat ,Prof Showkat and Doctor Gazanfar Ali Gazal were also present in the presidium . A budding singer Saima Ashraf recited Natti Sharif and some of the poems from the book ‘ Fana -Fi- Rahim’ and enthralled the jam packed audiance by her mesmerizing voice . Prominent writers Ali Ahsan and Showkat Firaar read thier thought provoking papers highlighting poetic beauty and sensitivities in the mystic poetry of Faqir Rahim Shah .
Paper reading session was followed by a scintillating mahfl-e- mushaira wherein veteran poets including Mushtaq Mehram ,Gh Rasool Sadoori ,Ab Rashid Shaad , Omar Fayaz and Mrs Shadab Yasmeen recited thier poems .
President of the Kashmir Markaz Adab-w-saqafat ,Dr Gazanfar Ali presented welcome address whereas Secretary KMAS , Inayat Gul conducted proceedings of the literary event in his unique style . Daughter of the sufi poet Shameena Rahim in her soulful and emotional attire presented vote of thanks to the guests and organisers of the event
Dignitaries in the presidium especially Farooq Fayaz ,Shaad Ramzan and Mohd Amin Bhat dwelt in length on the contribution of mystic poetry ( sufi ) to the kashmiri cultural and literature . They were of the opinion that Kashmiri Sufi poetry was much more rich in content and thought as compared to the literature of other languages especially urdu and english.
On this occasion greetings were also presented to the Bearu Chief of ETV 18 Urdu , Mr Rajesh Raina on release of his fresh song sung by ace singer Waheed Jeelani .
