Quality education with best facilities be ensured for allround development of students: DC K’gam

EMRS Tangmarg in Kulgam starts functioning with first batch of 60 students

K’gam : The EKLAVYA Model Residential School (EMRS) started functioning Friday with its first enrolled batch of 60 ST students at its campus located here in Tangmarg, Aharbal.
Meanwhile to celebrate this jubilant movement, a grand function was organized within the school premises which was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.
DDC member Manzgam, JameelaChowdhary, ACD, ACR, SDM Noorabad, CEO, Dy-CEO, Tehsildar, BDO and other officers besides PRI members and a large number of ST population were present during the programme.
It was informed that the school is expanded over an area of 60 Kanals with project cost of 17 crores.
On the occasion, the DC also visited various sections of the school and took a detailed stock of available facilities here.
The DC was briefed by the Chief Education Officer Kulgam, M Ashraf about the arrangements that have been put in place for smooth functioning of the residential school.
The DC directed the CEO to start indoor games for the enrolled students and extend other recreational facilities to them.
He also instructed to conductperiodical health checkups of the students and ensure best possible facilities for comfortable stay and studies for all the students.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that it is joyous movement to see that the Residential school has startedfunctioning with its first student batch comprising of 30 boys and 30 girls. He added that quality education with best facilities will be assured for all-round development of students in school.
The DC added that the Eklavya Model School came up in the district under an ambitious initiative of the Governmentto enable the tribal students to get quality education so that they can compete with the students of rest of the country.
