FCS&CA Deptt Pulwama Slaps fine on Officials for willful inclusion of ineligible families under NFSA

Pulwama: In a first of its Kind, Assistant Director FCS and CA Department Pulwama has ordered debiting of amount at penal rates to the personal accounts of the FP Shop dealers for willful inclusion of ineligible households under PHH (erstwhile BPL) and concealing this information from the department despite being locals.
As per the official, “Gowhar Ahmad, FP Shop dealer Jeen Mohala Satoora Aripal, was issuing ration to two households having one member as Govt. teacher each and failed to submit this information to the department.”
Similarly, “Shazia Javid, FP Shop dealer Rathsuna,was issuing ration to one family whose one member is a gazetted officer.”
Calculating the amount as per the details available on departmental site at penal rates to the personal accounts of these FP dealers, Assistant Director FCS and CA pulwama ordered debiting of Rs.16425 and Rs.11137.5 against Mr.Gowhar and Ms.Shazia respectively.
Assistant Director FCS and CA Pulwama has further reiterated that the department is identifying more such cases,if any, and similar action shall be initiated against defaulters.
The department is also mulling to initiate legal action against the families available illegal benefits under NFSA.
The official said that the FCSCA Department has even written to Revenue and RDD departments for initiating disciplinary action against its field staff members for including above ineligible families under NFSA during the recently held re-verification of ration cards.
