Budgam : Police on Friday said that it has arrested 06 persons and seized 06 vehiclesfor Illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Budgam.
In a statement issued on Friday a police party of Police Station Beerwah at a checkpoint established at Narwara Beerwah arrested six persons and seized six vehicles (tippers) for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, stating therein further that the arrested persons have been identified as Firdous Ahmed Bhat son of Mohammad Ramzan Bhat resident of Hardiwal, Mudasir Ahmed Bhat son of Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat resident of Hajigero, Sajad Ahmed Mir son of Sanaullah Mir resident of Hajigero, Abdul MajeedReshi son of Ghulam Mohammad Reshi, Bashir Ahmed Mir son of Abdul Aziz Mir and Ghulam Nabi Reshi son of Mohammad Sidiq all residents of MukamWaterihail.
Stating that the said accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, police in it’s statement further said that the vehicles bearing registration numbers JK13B-3477, JK04F-1593, JK04F-2019, JK04A-9569, JK01R-5192 & JK04-8263 used in the commission of crime have also been seized.
Police in its statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 39/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation set into motion.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed to people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
