Drug peddler held in Bla, Contraband substance recovered: Police

Baramulla : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that officers from Police Station Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Hilal Khaliq, at a checkpoint established at Dhobiwan Kunzer arrested a drug peddler identified as Nazir Ahmad Malik son of Ab Gani Malik resident of Wanigam Kunzer and recovered 150 grams of Charas from his possession, stating therein further that the said accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kunzer and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
