Ganderbal police busts a gang selling stolen vehicles, 5 arrested, 5 stolen vehicles recovered: police

Ganderbal  : Police on Thursday said that it has busted a gang involved in selling stolen vehicles in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district by arresting five accused and seizing five stolen vehicles the possession of the accused .
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that during the investigation of Case FIR No. 231/2021 of PS Ganderbal, an investigating team of PP Shadipora under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal arrested 5 persons identified as Riyaz Ah son of Rajan resident of Ganderbal, Riyaz Ahmad Rather son of Ab Gani Rather resident of NasrullaporaBudgam, Showkat Ah Bland son of Habibullah resident of Bijbihara Anantnag, Bilal Ahmad Danga son of Bashir Ah resident of Dangmohalla Wakoora and Sakhi Rather son of Gh Rasool Rather resident of Wakoora.
Stating that during questioning, officers learnt about their involvement in the commission of crime and on their disclosure recovered stolen vehicles viz, Hyundai Creta (01No.), VitaraBreeza (01No.), Hyundai i20 sports (01No.), Maruti Swift VDI (01No.) and Maruti Alto Car (01No.) from various parts of the district, police in it’s statement saud It was also learnt that these vehicles have been stolen from various parts of the country, stating therein further that these stolen vehicles were plying in a malafide manner across the district. Stating further that investigation of the case is going on, Police in its statement asked people not to buy any suspicious vehicle from any unauthorized dealers/persons and buy vehicles only after proper verification from the Police and concerned RTOs.
