Srinagar: Shut down continues for the third day Monday in parts of the central Kashmir district of Badgam, where a youth was killed in security force firing on July 21 during demonstrations after Friday prayers.
Meanwhile, the mobile internet service also remained suspended for the fourth day Monday to prevent spread any rumours in the parts of the Badgam.
Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads in Beerwah and adjoining areas. Work in government offices, banks and educational institutions was also affected due to strike on the fourth day fateha of the youth killed in the firing.
A youth was killed when security forces opened fire to disperse demonstrators after Friday prayers at Beerwah.
Though there were no restrictions in part of the Badgam, additional security forces and state police personnel have been deployed in strength to prevent any law and order problem.
