NIA serves notice to 3 separatist leaders of Kashmir

Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), investigation terror funding from Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) has served fresh notice to three separatist leaders to appear before it on July 24 at Humhama in central Kashmir district of Badgam.
However, two of the leaders summoned by the NIA Altaf Ahmad Shah, son in law of chairman of hardline Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Raja Merajuddin Kalwal were arrested only to be released on July 17 after serving 20 day detention.
The NIA has grilled a number of separatist leaders, including spokespersons of both the factions of the HC Aiyaz Akbar and Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam besides chairman of National Front (NF) Nayeem Ahmad Khan, who allegedly admitted to have received funds from Pakistan and POK for financing militancy and stone pelting in the valley. Nayeem was later suspended from the hardline HC. However, separatists denied the allegation that they were receiving funds from Pak and POK.
A spokesman of the NIA has once again served notices to Shah, Kalwal and Peer Saifullah directing them to appear before it at Humhama on July 24.
Earlier, the investigating agency had called Shah and Kalwal to Delhi where he was subjected to questioning for several days.
Giving details Huriyat said that on Eid ul Fitter both leaders returned to valley. However, Kalwal were again served notice from NIA to appear in New Delhi.
He said when the leaders were preparing to leave for Delhi and even had made necessary arrangements and reserved their tickets, they were arrested by state police under section 107 & 151 and after serving detention for 20 days were released on July 17th..
He said NIA raided the houses and offices of separatists leaders in Kashmir after the release of sting operation of Nayeem Khan.
