Jammu : Director General Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over Rupees 3.22 crore welfare loans/relief in favour of 344 personnel to meet their immediate financial needs. The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police welfare Fund .
Quoting an order issued from Police Headquarter police in a statement said that the financial assistance of Rupees 51 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 64 police personnel for self-treatment and treatment of their dependents. “ Rupees one lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 258 police personnel to meet the expenses of their own marriage, and marriage of their sons/daughters”, reads the police statement, adding that “ ten police personnel have been provided welfare loan of rupees one lakh each for higher/professional education of their wards and Rs 3 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of six police personnel for circumcision and Yognopavit of their wards”, stating therein further that under this order, Rupees 90 thousand as welfare relief has been also sanctioned in favour of six police personnel.
Police in it’s statement also said that the welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest, stating therein that however, the welfare relief provided is non-refundable. It may be mentioned here that Police headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing assistance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of Martyr police personnel and wards of SPOs killed in the line of duty. Meritorious scholarship for the brilliant wards of in-service police personnel/slain/retired police personnel/SPOs is also provided to inculcate spirit of competition among them.
