Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal on Thursday said that it has seized huge quantity of illicit timber from forest area of village Hilpatti Hankar Gund.
Police in a statement issued here on Thursday said that acting on specific input about timber smuggling, a police party of PS Gund on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikil Borkar under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan seized 21 logs of illicit timber from the forest area of village Hilpatti Hankar Gund.
In the concluding para of its above referred statement it also said that, a case vide FIR No. 48/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Gund and further investigation set into motion,stating therein that efforts are on to nab the persons involved in the commission of crime.
