Rape-accused juvenile granted bail by Bandipora court after four months

Bandipora: A local court on Friday granted bail to a rape accused juvenile after more than four months in northern district of Bandipora.
The accused was charged for raping a girl in Sumbal area of Bandipora district and was serving detention since past four months. The accused who was granted bail by the Bandipora court was represented by advocate T.A Lone and Advocate Umar Mir.
An official said that the juvenile was arrested on June 19 this year and his bail was rejected by juvenile board Bandipora on September 09. He later filed appeal against order of juvenile board Bandipora before sessions court Bandipora.
The court, however allowed this concession on the condition that the custody of juvenile during the period of bail is handed over to his parents.
“The parents of the juvenile shall have to furnish a bond before the Juvenile Justice Board to the effect that during the inquiry pending before the Juvenile Justice Board,” it had said.
The Court in it’s judgemental said that the parents shall take proper care of the juvenile and ensure that the juvenile in conflict with law or any other family member of the juvenile shall not directly or indirectly contact with the complainant party.
The court said that the family shall ensure that the Juvenile shall not in any way get into contact with the victim or any of her family members.
Further the court stated that the parents shall have to execute a bail bond and personal bond to the tune of Rs.50000/- before Juvenile Justice Board Bandipora for ensuring the presence of juvenile before the Juvenile Justice Board during the enquiry.
The court also ordered that the juvenile shall not leave the Kashmir valley without prior permission from the Juvenile Justice Board.
“Mobile Number of the juvenile, if any be provided to the investigating agency. The mobile number of parents of the juvenile is also provided to the investigating agency,” it said.
“In case the juvenile or his parents violated any of the conditions of bail, it will be free for the prosecution to move before the Juvenile Justice Board for cancellation of his bail,” the court said
