Shimla: The BJP national Executive Meeting would held on November 7 at Delhi in which
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Party President Suresh Kashayap and Party Organisation Secretary Pawan Rana and former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal would participate.
Party spokesperson said a meeting held once in three months would discuss the
party’s prevalent matters. The meeting is being held after a gap of six months as it was delayed
due to Covid Pandemic.
He said Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and Shanta Kumar and party
senior leader are special invitees at the meeting ,however, in eighty member national executive
Jagat Prakash Nadda and Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur are
two members from the state.
Spokesperson of CMO told UNI that the schedule of National Party executive meeting has not
been released officially so far, however, due to Covid pandemic CM could participate in the online meeting only.
Party sources said some of the party leaders have got call from National executive to attend the
meeting physically in which CM, party president and Party Organization secretary and Mr Prem Kumar
Dhumal would take part.
Party spokesperson said on the sidelines of the national executive meeting the state invitee may
discuss the issue of party drubbing in the recent by-election ,however, there is no agenda set for this issue
in the National executive so far.
The party has lost all the four seats in the by- election in the state which was held under the leadership of
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and the members may also discuss the party strategy for 2022 general assembly election as it has just one year left to restore party faith in people which bylarge voted against the ruling party candidate and one of the party candidates lost deposits due to wrong decisions of allotment of tickets in the state.
Ruling party seemed to be in trouble following pressure from the people as the Union Government had to cut down the taxes on the Petrol and Diesel prices. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur blamed that people voted against the party as Congress succeeded to make inflation an important weapon against the BJP during the by-election.
Chief Minister also indicated the infighting among the party leaders in the state, as another cause of the debacle
and now the party national executive and party high command likely to contemplate on these issues.
Party is divided in the state as its senior leaders are blaming each other before the by-election about the fake
degree scams and arrest of party senior leader in the biggest ever scam since former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal was in chair who gave assent to number of private universities.
Former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar on the eve of his birthday addressed a press conference at Palampur
demanding the arrest of kingpin of fake degree scams terming that scam would not have been possible without
political patronage.
A complaint was also filed in the High Court recently over allotment of public land to a charitable trusts in violation of lease rules which indicated that senior party leadership is not only deep divided but the faultlines are already there before the by-election.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur addressed as many as sixty rallies during the Mandi Parliamentary elections campaign and former Union Minister Shanta Kumar also addressed some rallies in the Mandi district for Brigadier Khusal Thakur but party did not deploy former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal for the party campaigning at all.
