Srinagar : Commissioner SMC Athar Amir khan Wednesday visited SMC’s Veterinary Services complex Tengpora to take stock of various projects coming up at Aloochbagh and Tengpora – the ABC_ AR facility and establishment of modern Abattoir.
A detailed review of both the projects was taken and directions were passed to JKPCC to expedite the works on the project urgently keeping in view the dire need and public health importance of the project. He also directed the works wing of SMC to expedite the works for ABC AR project on sterilisarion of stray dogs. He was accompanied by Municipal Veterinary Officer Dr Javaid Ahmed Rather and Joint Commissioner works and other officers of JKPCC. With establishment of ABC AR facility the number of sterilizations per day shall be enhanced to achive a time bound progress .
Commissioner SMC stressed the need of enhancing the volume of sterilizations to achieve a stable population of stray dogs ,he was informed that three more ABC AR centres are being added up to enhance the volume of sterilisations to 240 surgeries a day to achieve a stable population in a time bound manner
