4 gamblers arrested in G’bal; Stake money seized : Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested four gamblers and also seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Saturday police said that acting on specific information, a police party from Police Post Shadipora under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal raided a gambling site at Rabitar following an input about gambling activities and apprehended four gamblers identified as Mohammad Akhter Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar resident of Lathi Authkhuroo, Farooq Ahmad Guru son of Ali Mohd Guru, Bashir Ahmad Khan son of Abdul Salam Khan and Ghulam Rasool Gulla son of Ghulam Nabi Gulla, all residents of Narayan Bagh, Ganderbal.
Stating that officers seized stake money of Rs 11,300/- and playing cards from the gamblers who were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, police in it’s statement further said said that a case vide FIR No. 144/2021 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and further investigation has been taken up.
